# How can SMEs implement AI to compete?

Major companies like **Unilever, Kraft Heinz, Mondelez, and Nestlé** are already using AI to create new flavors, adapt ingredients to trends, and quickly develop personalized products.

However, implementing AI in the industry comes with several challenges:

- A steep learning curve for data-analysis teams

- Ensuring AI is applied where it truly adds value

- Significant investment in building a specialized data-science team

For companies without the financial capacity to deploy these technologies independently, I see two main paths:

1. Applying for **grants or innovation credits**

2. Partnering with **specialized platforms that provide AI-as-a-service**
