Greetings,

I recently joined the CFIN and thought it best to introduce myself. I hope I am posting this in the correct forum, but please let me know if it should be posted elsewhere.

My name is David Fairbanks. I am a chef and educator at Algonquin College (Ottawa), currently teaching in and coordinating the Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Food Science (Honours) (Co-op) program.

Our program is quite varied, offering students courses in culinary and baking arts, food microbiology, food plant safety, and food law and regulations. The program has strong themes of innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Through applied research in product development, students can research, create and market their products. In addition, students participate in two practical cooperative education learning opportunities gaining valuable applied industry experience.

I am new to the site but very happy to have found it. The CFIN seems to be an excellent resource.
