Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has a food-grade spray dryer (or offers spray drying service) that we could use within the next month or so? We will need ~10L capacity. We're located in Vancouver, BC so if there is anything on the west coast that would be ideal!
Thanks for any suggestions,
Erin

Thanks @Lavina Gully for tagging me. @Erin Gilchrist : Dr. Husnik already reached out to us.
We have very active research on both spray dryer and fermentation. Our Buchi B-290 spray dryer recently broke, but is being repaired. In the meantime we are using another spray dryer in Chemical Engineering. We are also gauging interest for partnership with someone to bring a small industrial-scale spray dryer (50-100 kg/hr drying capacity) to our UBC Food and Beverage Innovation Center. We also have many kinds of ongoing fermentation studies ongoing including enzymatic fermentation, solid state fermentation, lactic acid fermentation, fermentation for bio fortification, cellular agriculture fermentation etc. as well setting up a 1000 L microbrewery in the new Food and Beverage Innovation Center.
Hello Anubhav, We have a buchi and pilot scale spray dryer in our pilot plants at the Guelph Food Innovation Centre (GFIC) . If you don't mind sending samples such a long way we could certainly process them for you.
Please reach out if this is something you would like to discuss (dvella@uoguelph.ca).

Wondering if the CAFA asset map might provide some information to help with your request. I've copied the information below from an e-mail I received from them -
Are you a Canadian researcher involved in sustainable protein? We are excited to announce the launch of the Canadian Agri-Food Asset Map (CAFA), a new online platform for showcasing your expertise and infrastructure.
CAFA is a comprehensive, interactive map that highlights Canada's agri-food assets, making it easier for researchers, investors, and industry partners to collaborate. As a sustainable protein researcher, CAFA provides a unique opportunity for you to increase your visibility in the protein ecosystem and connect with like-minded professionals.
By including your expertise and infrastructure in CAFA, you'll be able to showcase your research and capabilities to a broad audience. You can identify potential partners for future collaborations, and access a wealth of resources to enhance your research.
To get started all you need to do is register, then you can start exploring CAFA and add or edit your expertise and infrastructure.
Don't miss this chance to be a part of Canada's most comprehensive agri-food asset map. Join CAFA today and unlock new opportunities for collaboration, research, and growth. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to us at mbprotein@umanitoba.ca.

Food Grade Dryer:
We can possibly help you directly or at minimum point you in the right direction.
Some preliminary questions about the application...
What product are you drying?
What water evaporation rate (in pounds/kg's per hour) do you desire?
What particle size do you desire?
How will you be packing the finished product?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi Erin,
I've run yeast based products through the spray drier at Agri-Food Discovery Place (AFPD) located at the University of Alberta. The spray drier is very much in the correct scale for your project.
