Made-in-Alberta Frozen Asian Ready Meals Using AI-Enabled Automated Production: Seeking Strategic Partners, Co-Manufacturing Clients, Investors, and Grant Funding

Chef in Town Ready Meals is a CFIA-certified frozen ready meal manufacturer based at the Food Processing Development Centre in Leduc, Alberta, producing Asian-inspired rice bowls, noodle bowls, ramen, and udon for retail and foodservice distribution.

Our current initiative focuses on scaling ready meal manufacturing capacity through AI-enabled automated production - including computer-vision quality control, automated portioning and assembly, programmable high-efficiency cooking systems, and cold-chain monitoring. The objective is to deliver consistent, chef-developed frozen entrees at a cost structure competitive with imported product, while building durable domestic processing capability in Western Canada.

The product line draws on nearly three decades of Japanese QSR culinary development in the Edmonton, St Albert and Spruce Grove market, now reformulated for retail and institutional frozen formats.

We are seeking:

  • Strategic working partners and technical collaborators in food automation, robotics, and machine vision
  • Co-manufacturing and private label clients (retail, foodservice, institutional)
  • Investors to support facility expansion to a dedicated 20,000 sq ft CFIA-registered plant
  • Research and grant funding partners for R&D, scale-up, and market development

Interested parties are welcome to connect directly.

Hi Yan

We are a food technology company that enables manufacturers to extend shelf life of clean label recipes using our patented TAPS technology. Check out www.disruptiveeating.net for more details.

The RTE meals can be stored in the fridge at 4 C. Taste, texture and nutrition are retained same as Day 1 of production throughout the duration of the life of the foods. I look forward to exploring the opportunities with your foods and our technology. With this you will be able to offer actual fresh food that is never frozen, or retort cooked or is filled with acid to maintain Ph.

Thanks

@Amin Ghasemazar is this something you'd be able to support Yan at Chef in Town with?

Yes! Thanks for the mention.

Hi Yan,

Your initiative closely align with our work at FabriSight. We specialize in computer vision for quality control, production efficiency, and labour productivity in food manufacturing.

I'll be in Alberta this week for some site visits; would be glad to stop by your facility, meet in person, and learn more about your operation through a quick site tour.

Hi Yen,

We are IT and Software solution provided based in Edmonton and reading your post, I realized I can help you with Research and grant funding partners for R&D. I know someone with whom we are working for past 3-4 years. I would be more than happy to make an introduction.

I sent you a connection request, let's connect and talk more on 1:1.

Hi Yan, this looks like exciting work. I run Prime Axis Foodtech Solutions, a West African food supply chain company and CFIN member - we work on sourcing, logistics, and supply chain solutions for food & beverage businesses. Domestic processing capacity and automation are areas we're watching closely as we look to strengthen cross-regional partnerships. Happy to connect and explore whether there's a fit - whether on the sourcing side or exchanging notes on scaling processing capacity. Feel free to reach out directly.

Hi Amin,

I am sorry for replying you late. I will give you a call tomorrow to further discuss.

thanks.

Yan, this is a very interesting initiative. Here at Intronic we help unlock domestic processing capacity through the implementation of advanced manufacturing solutions. We are robot integrators and automation specialists with experience in packaged food and beverage handling as well as myriad other applications. We support processors in designing production lines, implementing LEAN manufacturing principles, integrating automated quality and inspections systems, automating handling and packing processes, and, of course, managing all the data flows from these systems.

We'll be commissioning a job in Edmonton later this month so we could stop by for an in-person meetup to learn more about your project.

Best regards,

Hi Hubba, thank you for your reply.
