Firstly - I'm so excited to be a part of this group and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to connect with like minded industry professionals!
My name is Hayley and I have recently relocated to Canada from Australia, based in Toronto. My background is in Food and Agriculture industries, working for both government and private organisations. I have a Bachelor of Human Nutrition Majoring in Biochemistry, and am currently undertaking my last subject of my Master of Global Food and Agriculture Business part time. My most recent role was as a Senior Food Standards Officer for Provincial government in Australia were I have had the opportunity hone my auditing skills, auditing primary production businesses against provincial and national legislation, as well as scope and manage food safety related industry projects to drive continuous improvement and mitigate food safety risks. Through my project work, I had the opportunity represent my organisation on national standards development and implementation working groups for various commodities, namely, horticulture, eggs, poultry and bivalve molluscs (oysters, scallops, pipis). I am passionate about food and agriculture and love working with individuals and organisations to improve outcomes and build long lasting productive relationships. In finding my feet here in Toronto, I am seeking the following:
- The opportunity to connect with food and agriculture industry professionals to get some advice on the food and agriculture landscape here in Canada
- An employment opportunity in food and agriculture in auditing, policy development, project management for private organisations, government or industry stakeholders
- To make new friends in a new city and country!
