Foodservice and Hospitality Article: Technology innovation fuels change for Canada's foodservice industry

Happy Monday, YODLers!

Foodservice and Hospitality just published an article – written by CFIN’s CXO, @Dana McCauley – about how tech and innovation are rapidly transforming our foodservice industry.

Some of the highlights:

- While the food industry has been slower than other sectors to automate, food chains are already making incremental investments in elements of Industry 4.0 in order to create more transparent, agile and competitive operations

- As Gastronomous COO and Co-Founder @Kristian Tazbazian puts it: “Food is the last great frontier of automation”

- Cellular Agriculture will create new foodservice opportunities and markets, while producing less energy and GHG emissions compared to conventional agriculture

- Virtual menus are here to stay

Dear Jamil
Greetings

Many thanks for sharing a great insight of the need of the day.

Innovation is the mother of necessity, as it says, and innovations to address food security and food supply chain that are integral part of sustainability is getting more prominence specailly due to water stress and food footprint issues or soil conditioning or cost of fertilizer that is directly linked to high cost of farm produce. And not forgetting Methane Gas emission. Why not fix the listed issues by recycling food waste streams A & B?

Once again, thank you for highlighting the issues.

Best regards
Zack
