Hi everyone - I just wanted to introduce myself and my business. I am Pam Bailey and with my husband, we are about to FINALLY start processing and open Manitoba's first craft malthouse. Just wanted to say hello and was curious if anyone had questions or insight on malt or malting - I'd love to connect!
It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Gerrard and I am a food scientist at Innov Research Center (over here in Grand Falls, NB). My background is in brewing/malting and I've worked with many of the craft malthouses on the East Coast to with their operations as well as to provide grain/malt testing. I know you already have some great resources there in Manitoba at the CMBTC, but I would certainly be interested to connect and hear more about your new operations! Gerrard.Kilfoil@ccnb.ca
Congratulations! Not sure if the Ontario market will be one you are looking to supply? I run the Centre for Craft Brewing/Beverage Innovation at Durham College. We work with craft beverage makers to prototype and develop new products. I would very much like to talk with you at some time to find out what new possibilities your products could bring to craft beverage makers.
Welcome to the community Pam! BC is in the midst of opening a Food and Beverage Innovation Centre in Vancouver. I had a chance to visit them recently and brewing/fermentation is a large focus. I invite you to connect with their team about potential collaboration or testing.

Hi Pam. Just chiming in here as a long-time brewer. I was the first to import specialty malts from a British floor maltings. They were the same that Rogue imported in the States. Wonderful stuff. Good to see micromaltings happening in Canada.
