Nutritional Labelling Software/Translation Services - Reco's needed

Hey Yodl’ers,

This topic came up in our recent New Member Meetup so I thought I’d start a thread about it as a future reference.

1. What nutrition labelling software have you used and can recommend? Looking for options that ship with a robust database of raw ingredients, or even standalone ingredient databases that could be paired with Excel to crunch numbers in a simple way.

2. Also looking for translation service reco’s for ingredient listings.

Thanks in advance!

Esha/Genesis R&D is pretty good but pricey. Pricing from last year attached. The canada label module/add on can generate Canada compliant bilingual NFTs.

Hi Lavina,

This is exactly what we do, we use the ESHA software to compile the charts and help you with the translation and regulations for Canada.

Hello Lavina (and everyone else ;-)),

If by chance you are looking for information on food product labelling for EUROPE, Zèbre Stratégie specialises in this service. We have a full department that handles this:
- ingredient verification,
- nutrition table
- label creation
- packaging design
etc

After working for 20 years in the agri-food industry in Europe, we now offer our services in Canada.

I myself hold a master’s degree in European law and act as a CETA specialist with the Embassy of France, Belgium, and the European Commission in Canada.

So don’t hesitate to contact us!!! … for labels or anything else related to exports to Europe.

Looking forward to it

Thanks all for your insights and @Lavina Gully for starting this topic. I have been following this thread as it related to an industry report on food labels we are preparing for January 2023. @Nawaz Ahmed, @Tarryn Gorre, @Pina Romolo as #ingredient supplier, food #technologist, and #manufacturer, respectively, what are the features and functionalities you value the most, dislike and miss in the labeling software solutions you use today?

We have just received a ridiculous increase notice of over 500% from Trustwell (which now owns Genesis).
Is it the same on your end?

This brings me back to this question: what other software do you use for nutritional value calculations and creating your Nutri tables (Canada AND USA)? We are looking for a calculation tool recognised by the FDA, which has a large nutritional database and offers some flexibility regarding the nutritional data to include in the tables (e.g., adding a non-mandatory nutrient).

Ideally... an API functionality would be a plus.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Lavina,

Our firm recently developed FoodFormulary.com, which handles a wide variety of nutrition label formats, has several databases, and a straightforward method of importing data and populating nutrient fields. Currently in beta testing, you are welcome to request a trial subscription
